Arun C Michael Turning waste
into energy.
Ideas into companies.

I build companies in renewable energy, biogas and smart farming. Through Synod Group, that work connects environmental engineering with the people, products and software that put it into practice.

About Arun C Michael

Arun C Michael is an entrepreneur based in Bengaluru. Since 2009 he has built Synod Group, beginning with Synod Bioscience. The work covers biogas, compressed biogas (CBG), composting and water treatment, including sewage treatment plants (STP) and water treatment plants (WTP), plus smart farming and software. BIOPOWER is BPG Renewables Private Limited, formed in 2023. nanoFarm is NFI SmartFarm Solutions Private Limited. emPOWER is that company’s AI-assisted ERP.

01 — The founder’s story

₹40,000. A few friends. A willingness to begin.

2009 to todayLearning by building.

Entrepreneurship started on the factory floor.

In 2009, fresh out of college, I started Synod with a few friends, ₹40,000 and no previous business experience. We did the labour, deliveries and installations ourselves, learning the business by doing the work.

That beginning grew into biogas, compressed biogas (CBG), composting, water treatment and smart farming. Alongside my long-time co-founder Zeeshan M P, I have continued building businesses around practical environmental challenges.

Today, software, AI and connected sensors are part of that wider toolkit. My work includes R&D and operations at nanoFarm (NFI SmartFarm Solutions Private Limited) and enterprise product development through emPOWER, a product of that company. I still see myself as a student.

“You don’t need to be born a genius to build something great.”

04 — People and purpose

The work matters when it reaches people.

Practical systems, shared learning, and a responsibility beyond the product.

Clean cooking. A smaller daily burden.

In a reflection on visiting the Hakki-Pikki community near Bannerghatta, I described supplying WonderBin portable biogas systems at concessional prices, with charitable support for the installations.

The experience reinforced why the human purpose of a system matters as much as its engineering.

Beyond VRAM Capacity: A Single-Workstation Case Study of Strata, Qwen3.8-Flash-Next, and OpenCode on an RTX 5080.

My OCF V1 case study documents hybrid memory placement, context compaction and queued execution. It explores running a model with an 83.62 GB on-disk footprint on a workstation with a 16 GB GPU, using host memory and storage alongside the card.

An author-published technical note about one workstation and one configuration. The results belong to that setup. It does not claim parity with frontier models.
